Long Term Disability Benefits
If your long term disability (LTD) benefits have been delayed, denied, or terminated, you are not alone- and you’re not without options. At K. Miller Law, we help individuals across Ontario fight back when insurance companies fail to uphold their promises.
What Are Long Term Disability Benefits?
LTD benefits are designed to provide income replacement when a serious illness or injury prevents you from working. Whether your disability is physical, psychological, or a combination of both, you may be entitled to receive monthly payments under your group or private insurance policy.
But the reality is, insurers often deny legitimate claims- sometimes without proper investigation, medical evidence, or explanation.
Common Reasons LTD Claims Are Denied
Insurance companies may deny or stop benefits for a number of reasons, including:
“Insufficient medical evidence”
“You’re not totally disabled”
“You can do another type of job”
“Your condition is mental, not physical”
“You didn’t meet the deadline”
“You failed to attend an independent medical exam”
We have seen it all- and we know how to respond.
